Air Arabia said yesterday its Egypt hub has officially opened. Air Arabia Egypt, an Alexandria-based Air Arabia Group company and now Egypt's new low-cost carrier, operated its first commercial flight yesterday from Alexandria's Burj Al Arab International Airport to Khartoum.
It would be followed by flights to Kuwait, Amman and Beirut, the airline said. A joint venture between Air Arabia and the Travco Group, Air Arabia Egypt is the Sharjah-based budget carrier's third hub after the UAE and Morocco.
"Complementing our existing operations in the UAE and Morocco, this new low-cost carrier will provide the same consistently high level of service, operational reliability and value-for-money fares that have become the hallmark of Air Arabia," Adel Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer, Air Arabia, said in a statement.
The new carrier plans to expand soon across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
